Mrs. Erie B. Bush Services Monday At Pleasant Hill
Mrs. Erie B. Bush, 83, Hartford formerly of Troy died Saturday in a Miami
nursing home following an extended illness. She was the widow of Rev. W. M.
Bush. Services will be held Monday from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near
Slocomb with Dr. Ellis M. Bush officiating and Garden Chapel Funeral Home of
Hartford directing. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to
the funeral.
Rev. W. M. Bush served as pastor of the New Brockton and Samson Baptist Churches
and of Southside Baptist church in Troy as well as numerous rural churches in
Southeast Alabama. Bush Memorial Baptist Church in Troy is named in his honor.
Mrs. Bush is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Jinright, Hialeah, Fla; five
sons, Jennings Bush, Panama City; William Bush, Augusta, Ga; Joseph E. Bush,
Summit, N. J; Dr. Ellis M. Bush, Shreveport, La. And Fred M. Bush, Huntsville.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Bush Memorial Baptist church of Troy or other
churches.
