ARCHER SUCCUMBS. L. Archer died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Willard Ellis, in Brundidge Heights, at noon Tuesday, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Archer, who was about eighty-two years of age at the time of his death was removed from the Masonic hospital to the home of his daughter about two weeks ago. Mr. Archer was a Confederate veteran, a member of the Baptist Church and a Mason. He is survived by his widow and four children. The funeral and burial services occurred at Little Oak on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, being conducted by Dr. C.B. Arendall, pastor of the First Baptist Church. The burial was in charge of the Masons. The following were the pall bearers: W.J. Ellis, Peter Brown, Ira Mills, C.M. Williford, L.E. Kyzar, H.H. Skinner. Mr. Archer had scores of friends in Troy, who extend sympathy to the bereaved family. Note: Lodenrich Archer was born 6 Apr.1841 S.C., died 4 Apr.1922, the son of Simon and Elizabeth Archer Sr. Lodenrich married Matilda King, daughter of William King and Nancy Cole. Lod and Matilda Archer had four children: Callie Donia Archer, Leroy L. Archer, David Frank Archer & Victoria Archer Ellis.
