Having move to Alabama in 185? (can't read the last number) at the beginning of the war he with his brother, enlisted in Co. I 15th Alabama Infantry. They both served through the war without receiving a wound. He was married twice, first to Miss Strickland. Two children were born to this union, a boy and a girl, the girl dying in infancy. His second wife, who died several years ago, was Miss Lizzie Boatright. He is survived by son (looks like) J. B. McLendon of Mobile, Ala. two daughters Mrs Amanda and Ellie Harris, both who lives near Banks; one brother Green McLendon, of Tennille, Two sisters, Mrs Amanda Bledsoe, of Banks and Mrs B. A. Griffin, of Greenwood, Arkansas; two half-brothers, I. E. McLendon and R. L. Mclendon of Banks. He united with the Methodist church about 30 years ago and since then his life has been in accordance with its teaching. Samuel T. Trotter, Pastor Banks, Ala. Aug. 6. 1914
