Life long residents of Pike Co., parents of 3 children: Louie W. Hussey, Tuscaloosa; Mary N. Hussey & Frances H. Johnston both of Ft. Walton 5 grandchildren 1 great grandchild. Hussey, 5, of the Chestnut Grove Community near Brundidge died Thursday after a short illness. Surviving are his parents Mr. & Mrs. H. D. Hussey, a sister Maurien Hussey. Funeral held Friday with Rev. Otis Ellis officiating. Jackson Funeral Home in charge. Burial was in the community cemetery. Funeral and burial was Monday at 2:00pm at Zion Chapel in Coffee Co. AL. Mrs. Hussey was born Apr 5, 1893 Coffee Co. Daughter of late Mr. & Mrs. Dock Wilks and had lived in Phenix City two and a half years. She was a baptist. Survivors include husband John L. Hussey, Phenix; 2 sons: Sam and Raymon of Phenix, 2 daughters: Mrs. Johnnie Lee Prestridge Waldenburg AK, Mrs. Verbie Deck Phenix City; 2 brothers Curtis and Dewey Wilks both of Jack AL; a sister Onnie Lunsford, Atlanta. L. Hussey was buried Thursday at the Hussey Cemetery at 1 pm. Elder Jack Chancellor conducting the funeral services. Mr. Hussey died of typhoid fever, having been ill for six weeks. He was forty-five years of age, and leaves a wife and several children.
