Sara's death was a shock to everyone. She was 43 years of age. She was a good woman and loved by everyone who knew her. She made friends where ever she went. Surviving are nine children; Mrs. Homer Rollings, Mrs. Jeff Walden, Winsett, Cyril, Doris, Catherine, Jane, Ray of Columbus, GA. and Mrs. Ned Russell of Ansley; also her mother and five brothers, Claude McLendon of Jonesville, Jim, Clarence, Emmett and Jack McLendon all of Banks, AL. and one sister, Mrs. Alpha Warr, also of Banks, AL. Funeral was held Monday, Aug. 31, 1936 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Lon Renfroe officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Active pall bearers were Arthur Richardson, Marion Wilkes, George Herring, Albert Harden, Hugh Thompson and Lee Dorrill. One precious to our heart has gone, The voice we loved is still; The place made vacant in our home, Can never more be filled.
