She is the daughter of John Randolph and Mary Turk Darby a pioneer family of Pike County. Prior to her illness she was an active member and leader in civic affairs and was affiliated with the Methodist Church, U.D.C., D.A.R. and her missionary circles. Funeral services were conducted from the home at 10:30 am Wednesday with Dr. Tate, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating . Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, John C. Walters and Wallace D. Walters. Five daughters, Mrs. Frank C. Allen, Mrs. John W. Bick, Mrs. John E. Miley, Mrs. Paul Scherf and Mrs. John Chambers. Two sisters, Mrs. M. E. Hollis and Mrs. Dave Phenix. Sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: John W. Renfroe, Jr., James C. Hollis, Danny Walters, Joe Frank Walters, Frank C. Allen, Jr., George B. Hamil, Lee Y. Lamar, Robert Walters. **Note** This family links to my Renfroe line. One of her daughters Mary Turk Walters was married to John William Renfroe, Sr. John and Mary divorced sometime after 1943.
