Following is his obit clipped from the paper with a written notation "1-18-79" Lewis Sowell Funeral Home Fortune James Monroe Fortune, 87, of 19 Randolph Drive died Thursday morning at a hospital. Mr. Fortune was a native of Santa Rosa County and had resided in Pensacola for the past 39 years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two sons, Tramell Fortune of Baton Rouge, La., and Claudell Fortune of Pensacola; two daughters, Hazel Jones and Erma McCombs, both of Milton; two brothers, Perry Fortune of Milton and Tom Fortune of Crestview; two sisters, Della Buckley of Orlando and Vannie Booker of Pompano Beach; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lewis-Sowell Chapel with the Rev. W. L. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Welcome Cemetery with Lewis-Sowell Funeral Home directing. Active pallbearers will be Merrill Jones, James McCombs, Dewayne Williams, Millard Booker, Edmund Fortune, Cleveland Fortune and Ralph Fortune.
