Brother Renfroe was born in Jefferson County, Fla. May 14th 1832, moved to Randolph County, Ga., in 1847, and in 1852 he moved to Pike County, Ala.where he remained until death. He married Miss Lizabeth Oston in 1854 and she died in l863 being the mother of six children. In 1865 he married Mary Jane Bass and his home was blessed with four more children, making ten in all, six boys and four girls. Brother Renfroe joined the Baptist church at Mt. Zion, Barbour County,1864, and was baptized by Rev. Perkine. He was in the Constitution of Fairfield church and removed to Enon where he died a member. We finding this brother an exemplary, high toned christian gentleman, ever ready to lend a helping hand to the cause of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ was his friend, in danger his defense, in weakness his strength, in sorrow his joy, in pain his peace, in sickness his physician, in day his son, in the night his keeper, in the desert his shepherd, in life Jesus was his hope, in death his life, in grave his resurrection, and the hope of heaven his glory. Resolved, That in the death of our brother, this church has sustained an inseparable love; that the cause of Christianity loses a true and tried friend; the home of Bro. Renfroe robbed of a true husband and a tender father and a wise counsellor. We offer our condolence to them. Resolved, That in bowing in humble submission to the will of Him who is too wise to err, and too good to be unkind, would say to all mourning friends, "Blessed are those who die in the Lord." These are those who have washed their robes and made them as white as the blood of the Lamb. We would remind grief stricken friends, Bro Renfroe is not dead, but sleepeth. He is sleeping, calmly sleeping. In a new made grave today; We are weeping, sadly weeping, For a brother gone away, One by one the Lord will call us, As our labor here is done; And then as we cross the river, We may meet him one by one. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the church books and a copy be sent to the Troy Messenger for publication. Respectfully submitted, M. J. McKee J. W.
