All rights reserved. http://www.genrecords.net/alpike/ ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb by: Patsy McCoy pmccoy@pacifier.com May 2003 Civilwar Records I have Jesse BELL as a witness to an application for a Confederate Civil War Pension made by Frank B. (Francis Boniface) DuBose from Pike County ALA. This paper was signed in 1913 and Mr. Bell gave his address as Route 6, Troy, ALA. In this paper work, Mr. Jesse Bell states: 1) That he was 77 years old. 2) That he knew F. B. DuBose while living in Pike County in 1853. 3) That he was in the same company as F. B. DuBose. {i.e., Company I, Reg 22 Alabama) That the enlistingment date 1 Oct 1861. 4) That F. B. DuBose was taken prisoner at Missionary Ridge, Tenn. 5) That both were taken prisoner together and sent to Rock Island Ill., F. B. DuBose being in Barracks 13 and Jesse Bell in Barracks 31. There is another statement in this file signed 9 July 1909 by Willis C. Wood of Covington County ALA, stating that he was the Captain of this company. I have no connection to either Jesse BELL or Willis C. WOOD; rather am researching the DuBose family. However, thought someone from one of the families might be interested.
