Your petitioner, Sylvanus Walker, who is administrator of the goods and Chattle, rights and avedits ? that were of Norman Urquhart Dec'd, of the county and Stated aforesaid, would represent unto you honor, that the deceased died Seized and profefed for the following lands. to wit, the East 1/4 of the SE.1/4 and NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 12 in Township 6 of Range 19 lying and being in the County of Coffee and State aforesaid. He further represents unto your honer that the estate is solvent, and the said land cannot be equitably divided among the heirs at law of the deceased, without the sale thereof. He further represents unto your Honer that the deceased left as his heirs at law the following person, to wit, Margaret Joyce a widow^sister of Dec'd of full age who resides in the county and State foresaid. The children of John Urquhart, who was brother of the Decd, To wit, Thomas Urquhart, of full age, resides in the State of Florida, Gracy McCall a widow of full age resides in Montgomery County Ala. Elizabeth Knighten a widow of full age who has died since the death of Dc'd Norman Urquhart, leaving no living issue or children. Henry Urquhart of full age residing in Green County Ala. John Urquhart of full age, residing in Montgomery County Ala. Lafayette Urquhart of full age who has died since the intestated Norman Urquhart, leaving no children. and Anistatia Urquhart of full age residing in Montgomery County Ala. also the children of Catharine Williams dec'd who was a daughter of the dec'd Brother John Urquhart, where names and ages are not known to your petitioner, and whom he believes reside in the State of Florida. Also the children of Neile Urquhart dec'd a brother of the dec'd, to wit, Daniel Urquhart of full age, who resides in the County of Clark Ala. Henry Uquhart of full age who resides in the County of Barber Ala. (next page) and Benjarmin Urquhart of full age and resides in the county of Barber Ala. Also the children of Alexander Urquhart dec'd a brother of the deceased, to wit, Norman Urquhart of full age, Aaron Urquhart of full age, Nancy S. Walker wife of Sylvanus Walker, of full age Almira Herrington of full age, wife of James Herrington, Elizabeth Caffey a widow of full aged all of whom reside in Montgomery County Ala, Henry Urquhart of full age and Alexander Urquhart of full age both resides in Pike County Ala. Also the children of Daniel Urquhart dec'd, who was a Brother of the dec'd, To wit, Norman Urquhart, and Sarah Urquhart who has intermarried with some person, unknown to you petitioner, both of whom are of full age and reside in the State of Florida. Also the children of Nancy McLeod, Dec'd who was a Sister of the deceased,to wit, Daniel McLeod, Norman McLeod, Jannett McLeod, and Christian McLeod, all of full age, and reside in the State of North Carolina, Also the children of Elizabeth Shaw, dec'd who was a Sister of the dec'd, to wit, Jeanett Shaw, Elizabeth Shaw, Angus Shaw, Sally Sunday wife of John Sunday, all of full age, who reside in the County of Cumberland, State of North Carolina. and Nancy Crowder wife of Sion Crowder, Catharine Vickers wife of Hirman Vickers and Mary Wright wife of ...Wright all of full age and who reside in the State of North Carolina. He therefore prays you Honor to set a day for the hearing of this application, give the notice required by Statute of the heirs at law, and appoint some fit person to take testimony in this case, there upon the hearing of it^if is made to appear to your Honor from proof, that a Sale of dec'd land is necefsary to make distrubution, that your Honor grant him the usual order of reciver, to sell dec'd land and he as in duty bound will every pray. ******************************************************************************** State of Alabama Montgomery County } Personally appeared before me Sylvanus Walker adminitrator of the Estate of Norman Urquhart Decesed who on his oath says that the facts set forth in the forgoing petition are true. P. } Sylvanus Walker Additional Comments: (On the front of this document it just states) Norman Urquhart Deceased Petition to Sell Land Set f--th 18th of Oct Combined --l- 2nd Jany 1865 Recorded has a circle drawn around the word (Recorded) If anyone in Montgomery Co. has additional records to share it would be greatly appreciated. Or if they have access to Box # 103 in the Archives Montgomery Co. Al. I have been sent several documents over the years with only a box #103 listed as reference. When I was at the Archives I never found this box? Within it were letters written in regards to the Urquhart family encluding my John Urquhart who died intestate Mont. Co. 1844. He was the father to Catharine Urquhart who married John Allen Williams 14 Sep 1826 Mont. Co. Al. This couple lived in Pike Co. Al. 1830-30-50. In 1850 they are listed family #901 they moved to Florida in 1853. See Pike Co. reference to pension files of Squire F. Williams and Lucina Williams McCook. Thomas Urquhart brother of Catharine Urquhart Williams also removed to Fl. see Pike Co. son John Frank Urquhart, Methodist E. Minister record and John Lafayette Williams Methodist E. Minister record.
