Urquhart, the son of Thomas and Keziah L. Williams Urquhart, was born in Montgomery Co. Al. 15 Sep 1841; joined the church when almost 9 years old. His father moved from Al. to Fl. in 1852. Brother Urquhart joined the conference in 1860. In 1861, he was junior preacher on the Madison Circuit, in 1862, was on the Leon Circuit; in 1863, on the Gadsden Colored Mission, but was removed during that year to Apalachicola. In 1864, he was stationed at Albany, where he died 19 Aug 1864. He was a young man of lively spirit, refined and elevated by grace, promising great usefulness to the Church. This young man is also mention in a short story in the Book "Florida Flame" about his courage when he ministered to soldiers during the Civil War. This is the nephew of Rev. John Lafayette Williams he is listed in Pike Co. 1850 Census with his parents: #903 Urquhart, Thomas 37 b. GA Keziah (L.) 29 b. SC, Catharine 11 b.
